Haraco GmbH is a rapidly growing internationally accredited fumigation company. Strategically located inside the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, we offer our knowledge and expertise to major shipping and logistics corporations. In addition, we have established branches in Malaysia & Singapore with a distinct goal to expand and transmit our technical know-how, workplace safety, and environment consciousness on a global scale. Container Fumigation
Shipping Containers are considered high-risk carriers of exotic pests and hitchhikers. Insects may occur in the cargo, on wooden packaging materials, wooden pallets and on parts of the container itself. Therefore, fumigating cargo containers is a mandatory requirement in order to prevent cross-border transport of pests, diseases etc. Haraco is an approved BMSB treatment provider by the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment as well as New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries.
Fully complying to stringent requirements, We ensure highest quality results through application techniques which include Sulfuryl Fluoride and Phosphine fumigants.
Chamber Fumigation
In two specially designed chambers, the world’s largest enclosed facility, we conduct fumigation activities with Sulfuryl Fluoride for consignments that are shipped to Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia.
These chambers have the capacity to accommodate approximately 7000m3 simultaneously; an equivalent to 50 truck units.
Our Fumigation Operation Container (FOC), adjacent to the chambers and shipping containers, is equipped with all the necessary tools measuring devices & equipment to perform the activities safely, on time and with outstanding results.

Innovation
In Haraco we emphasise on innovation and constant improvement of our methods. This is in order to improve productivity, reliability, and workplace safety. We have developed a Fully Automated Fumigation Software that highly serves all involved parties; most importantly the customer, who receives a job completion certificate as soon as the task is finalised, in full transparency. Our goal is to constantly improve and upgrade our know-how in order to continue providing outstanding services.
R&D
We have a moral obligation to strive for new technologies that will minimise emissions of toxic substances to the environment. In collaboration with the University of Bremerhaven and its Process Engineering Department, we are developing a method to recycle/filter the Sulfuryl Fluoride fumigant with intent to reuse it, or if not possible to destroy it completely rather than releasing to the environment.
